My granddaughter Lena came to my home the other day with the cabbage patch kid of her mom that had no clothes on. So we decided to make him new clothes. I had kept the sleeves and the back of an old shirt of Lena. I used the sleeves as they were for the legs. Then I sewed the legs on another piece of fabric which ended on the waist where I put elastic.
For the shirt I cut a rectangular piece from the back. I appliqued at the front a piece of fabric chosen by Lena and then I sewed the side seams. I put elastic in the waist and around the neck, because as you can see his head is big and I did not want to add buttons. I think Iphicles (the cabbage patch kid has got that name after then the day Lena learned the history of Hercules) is happy with his new clothes. Lena as well ……..
