What is home decor? It’s anything you would use to decorate your space: wall hangings, cushions, rugs, linens, and decorative craft projects like bowls, wreaths, lampshades and baskets. Big or small, dramatic or subtle, it’s up to you!
Τι είναι η διακόσμηση σπιτιού σε σχέση με τα υφάσματα; Οτιδήποτε σκεφτείτε να κάνετε για να διακοσμήσετε τον χώρο σας: πάνελ για τον τοίχο, χαλάκια, σεντόνια και άλλα διακοσμητικά αντικείμενα όπως μπολ, στεφάνια, καλύμματα λάμπας και καλάθια. Μικρά ή μεγάλα, εσείς διαλέγετε! Αυτή ήταν η περιγραφή της πρόκλησης αυτού του μήνα. Το μέγεθος και το είδος του έργου ήταν ελεύθερα.
You have not yet seen the fabrics I had to use for this project. They were inside one of the two surprise packages in my December box. Mostly dark colors for a spring project, but they fitted nicely in my living room. I started thinking big (before the Coronavirus): Make a slipcover for my armchair that is situated in front of this curtain.
Τα υφάσματα που έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιήσω για αυτό το έργο δεν τα έχετε δει. Ήταν ένα από τα δύο πακέτα έκπληξη που υπήρχαν στο κουτί του Δεκεμβρίου. Σκούρα χρώματα για ανοιξιάτικο έργο αλλά μου ταίριαζαν ωραία στο σαλόνι μου. Ξεκίνησα με ένα μεγαλεπίβολο σχέδιο (πριν τον κωρονοϊό): να κάνω κάλυμμα για την μπερζέρα μου που βρίσκεται μπροστά από αυτή την κουρτίνα:
Therefore the design was predetermined. Houses that would escape from the curtain and would land under starry skies. But then I started with the masks and the project was too big to get it accomplished in time. So, I ended up with a few pillows for my sofa. I made 4 squares of 17″ and one rectangle.
Μονόδρομος λοιπόν το σχέδιο που είχα σκεφτεί. Σπιτάκια που θα έβγαιναν από την κουρτινα και θα προσγειώνονταν κάτω από έναστρους ουρανούς. Ελα όμως που μετά ξεκινήσαμε τις μάσκες και το να ράψω ένα κάλυμμα ήταν πια αδύνατον. Ετσι κατέληξα στα μαξιλάρια έχοντας πάντα κατά νου τα σπιτάκια. Έφτιαξα 4 τετράγωνα μαξιλάρια πλευράς 45 εκ. και ένα μακρόστενο. Μου μένει βέβαια να φτιάξω άλλα δύο αλλά αυτά θα τα δείτε αργότερα.
I chose the skies and then combined various pieces from all fabric of the collection to make those houses. I appliqued them in satin stitch, having put underneath the batting, so that I have them quilted at the same time. Last but not least I made the pillow cases and I am now very pleased with the result!
Διάλεξα ουρανούς και μετά συνδύασα κομμάτια από όλα τα υφάσματα της συλλογής για να φτιάξω τα σπιτάκια. Τα απλικάρισα με πλακέ έχοντας από κάτω τη βάτα κι έτσι έγιναν και ανάγλυφα. Εφτιαξα τέλος τις μαξιλαροθήκες, έντυσα τα μαξιλάρια μου και το αποτέλεσμα ήταν πολύ όμορφο! And of course they have been sewed on a Husqvarna. This time I used the H class 100Q,that is the machine of the company that can be easily taken with us. It is my favorite toy. When I do not have access on my big machines, I always prefer this one.
Και φυσικά ράφτηκαν σε μια Husqvarna. Αυτή τη φορά λόγω της ιδιαίτερης κατάστασης, που μια ήμουν εδώ και μια εκεί, χρησιμοποίησα την H class 100Q που είναι η μηχανή της εταιρείας για να μπορούμε να τη μεταφέρουμε εύκολα. Σας λέω όμως ότι είναι και το μπιζουδάκι μου. Όταν δεν ράβω στις μεγάλες, αυτή προτιμώ!
