How cute are mini quilts! This is the reason that I chose an also cute theme. I was looking for a pattern for a lesson of hand applique. My friend Miroula wanted to make something with teapots, therefore I came up with this pattern. I had just a photo from an old magazine, so I cannot give credits to anyone. I also had help by my friend Sandra, because you know what happened during past days….

Είναι όμορφα και χαριτωμένα τα μικρά. Γι αυτό κι εγώ διάλεξα ένα όμορφο και χαριτωμένο θέμα. Έψαχνα ένα θέμα για να κάνω μάθημα σε απλικέ χεριού και μια και η Μοιρούλα ήθελε να κάνει κάτι με φλυτζάνια και τσαγιέρες, σκέφτηκα να τα συνδυάσω όλα. Είχα κόψει στο παρελθόν μια φωτογραφία από ένα περιοδικό κι έτσι δεν ξέρω τίνος ιδέα ήταν. Βέβαια είχα και βοήθεια από το ξωτικό Σάντρα γιατί, ξέρετε τώρα, αυτές τις μέρες….

And there it is my mini. 20″ * 20″ made using the leftovers from last years boxes sent by Island Batik, because I was afraid that the new one would be delayed. I also used batting from last year. This was my last piece of Thermore batting sent by Hobbs last year. I like this batting a lot for the pannels. I always put it double.

Και να το το μικρούλι μου. 50 επί 50 εκ. με τα υπολείμματα από τα περσινά μου υφάσματα, που μου έστειλαν τα Island Batik, γιατί φοβόμουν ότι δεν θα έφτανε έγκαιρα το κουτί με τα καινούργια. H βάτα που χρησιμοποίησα επίσης από τις περσινές. Τελευταίο κομμάτι από την Thermore που μου είχε στείλει η Hobbs και που τη θεωρώ εξαιρετική για τα πάνελ. Την έβαλα πάλι διπλή.

Everything was hand appliqued and the flowers are 3dimensional. Also handquilted in the same color thread as the background so that we have just the relief without showing the thread.

Όλο απλικέ στο χέρι και τα λουλουδάκια τρισδιάστατα. Επίσης, το καπιτονάρισμα έγινε στο χέρι με κλωστή στο ίδιο σκούρο χρώμα για να μη φαίνεται ιδιαίτερα, απλώς να δίνει το ανάγλυφο αποτέλεσμα.

French knot in metallic thread for the hooks where hang the cups from.

Και κομποβελονιά με μεταλλική κλωστή για τα καρφάκια που κρέμονται τα φλυτζανάκια

And since I have got some tea cups that fitted to this quilt I got the appropriate picture.

Και επειδή είχα και ασορτί φλυτζάνια του τσαγιού, τα φωτογράφισα και κατάλληλα
